The Taipei District Prosecutors' Office has charged 11 individuals, including leaders of the Bamboo Union and Tian Qitian Hui gangs, as well as the president of the Zhonghua Republic Sunshine Association, for crimes including organized crime, private detention, fraud, and injury. The gangs were accused of collaborating with the charity to deceive the public into making donations, with police raids uncovering various weapons at their locations. The investigation revealed a series of violent debt collection and extortion incidents by the gangs, including incidents of beatings and detention. The Sunshine Association was found to have used fraudulent fundraising tactics, with donations amounting to nearly 440,000 yuan. The suspects are facing legal repercussions for their involvement in these illegal activities.
