Reported 11 months ago
On June 8, 2024, at 7:09 am, Public Television News revealed that the suspects were successfully arrested for using the 'goods delivery convenience' platform at convenience store 7-11 to conduct fraud. The scammers pretended to be sellers on Facebook's trading platform, claiming that following the seller would enter them into a lottery. Once the victims followed, they would receive a fake 'goods delivery' link, falsely stating they had won and needed to shop to claim the prize. The investigation found that victims, after paying and realizing the scam, reported to the police, resulting in the arrest of the fraud group leader. The Criminal Investigation Bureau has invited celebrities to raise awareness about such fraud methods and advised not to trust suspicious links or messages asking for personal information from platforms like 'goods delivery'. 7-11 has vowed to actively alert customers to anti-fraud information on their official website and assured they would not request personal information through SMS, urging consumers to contact customer service for verification if in doubt.
