French train manufacturer Alstom has finalized the sale of its North American conventional signalling business to Knorr-Bremse for $690 million, marking a significant step in its 2 billion euro deleveraging plan. The sale, initially announced in April, aims to reduce the company’s debt as it addresses financial challenges stemming from problematic contracts acquired through its 2021 purchase of Bombardier's rail operations.
