In the early hours of June 11, 2024, a group of nine people gathered at a KTV on Guosheng Street in Hualien. A verbal argument erupted during a drinking toast, leading to three individuals being injured. Despite attempts by other patrons to intervene, the situation escalated into a physical altercation. Six individuals involved were taken into police custody, with officers resorting to pepper spray due to their heightened emotions. The incident was investigated for disorderly conduct and assault charges, shifting the atmosphere from a festive gathering to a violent altercation.
