In Suzhou, China, a Japanese mother and child were attacked by a Chinese man with a knife while waiting for a school bus. A woman named Hu, who bravely intervened to stop the attacker, was fatally injured and passed away after days of treatment. The local government plans to posthumously award Hu the title of 'Model of Valor for Suzhou City.' This incident occurred amidst a series of attacks on foreigners in China, including a separate incident where a group of American university lecturers were wounded. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has labeled these events as 'isolated incidents,' emphasizing that China is one of the safest countries in the world.
