Thousands of delivery drivers have filed legal claims against Amazon, alleging that the company's classification of them as independent contractors instead of employees has resulted in unpaid wages and financial losses. Approximately 15,860 Amazon Flex drivers have submitted arbitration claims, with lawyers arguing that these drivers should be classified as employees based on state laws in California, Illinois, and Massachusetts. This classification would entitle the drivers to unpaid wages, overtime pay, and reimbursement for work-related expenses.
