Amazon's cloud services division clarified that it has not stopped any orders of Nvidia's most advanced chip but has chosen to procure Nvidia's newer Blackwell chip for an upcoming supercomputer project with Nvidia, as reported by Reuters. The transition from Nvidia's Grace Hopper chips to Blackwell chips specifically applies to Project Ceiba, a joint supercomputer project between Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Nvidia, while AWS continues to offer services based on Nvidia's Hopper chips for AI training. The Financial Times initially reported that orders had been fully transitioned, but later amended the story to clarify that the orders had not yet been placed.
