Amazon, the world's largest cloud service provider, has decided to establish a data center in Taiwan, with its cloud service Amazon Web Services (AWS) announcing a multi-billion dollar investment over the next 15 years. This move will allow Taiwan and global customers to run applications in local data centers to comply with regulations requiring certain business data to be stored locally. Companies like Quanta, Wistron, and Inventec, which are key Amazon data center manufacturers, are expected to benefit significantly from this investment. With this development, Amazon joins Microsoft, Google, and other major cloud providers already in Taiwan, becoming the 40th region globally to have an AWS infrastructure site.
