Amazon.com plans to launch a section on its shopping site offering cheap items shipped directly from Chinese warehouses to overseas customers, in response to the rise of bargain sites like Temu and Shein. The new marketplace will feature unbranded fashion, home goods, and daily necessities, with products delivered within 9 to 11 days. Amazon aims to start recruiting Chinese merchants this summer, allowing them to control product selection, pricing, and test new products. The shipments may utilize a U.S. trade provision exempting packages under $800 from customs duties, as per the Information report.
