At its Advancing AI 2024 event in San Francisco, AMD launched its latest artificial intelligence chips, including the 5th Gen EPYC CPUs and the MI325X AI accelerator, aiming to compete against market leaders Nvidia and Intel. AMD claims its chips outperform Intel’s in various metrics and announced that leading companies will soon adopt the MI325-based platforms. Despite AMD's recent successes in data center sales, Nvidia remains dominant in the market, leading to a competitive landscape as both companies scramble for larger market shares.
