Reported 7 months ago

During the Executive Yuan meeting on June 13, 2024, discussions were held regarding amendments to certain articles of the Fire Services Act proposed by the Ministry of the Interior. Taoyuan City's Deputy Mayor Su Jun-bin acknowledged that while many revisions incorporated local input, he noted significant gaps still exist in the law. Su emphasized the need to enhance the obligation for storage facilities to proactively report dangerous goods to ensure consistent management standards across various sites, pointing out the disparity in reporting requirements for hazardous materials stored at different areas. Su also highlighted the need for regulations to ensure effective communication and emergency response capabilities in modern building designs and manufacturing facilities. Executive Yuan Chief Su Rong-tai agreed with Su Jun-bin's statements, stressing the crucial link between hazardous material management and disaster prevention, and directed relevant ministries to further discuss and address the issues raised during the meeting.
