Houston, Texas Crowned America’s Dirtiest City, Surprising Many

Reported 6 months ago

A recent study by LawnStarter revealed that Houston, Texas, not New York City, is America's dirtiest city, surpassing Newark, New Jersey. Houston earned this dubious honor due to its poor air quality, infrastructure issues, and high number of pests like cockroaches. Other cities like San Antonio, Tampa, Boston, Philadelphia, and Baltimore also face significant pest problems. Despite California's efforts, cities like San Bernardino struggle with dirty air. On the other hand, San Francisco stands out as a cleaner city. Newark, New Jersey, ranks second in dirtiness due to various issues. The study also highlights water contamination in the southwest and cigarette littering in Ohio. Surprisingly, many clean cities are coastal, including Virginia Beach, while inland cities like Fremont, California, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina, also maintain high cleanliness standards.
