American Airlines dismissed their Chief Commercial Officer following a damning report from Bain.

Reported 4 months ago

American Airlines Group Inc. dismissed its commercial chief, Vasu Raja, following a critical review by Bain & Co. that revealed its new marketing strategy alienated corporate clients, leading to lagging revenue. CEO Robert Isom fired Raja after feedback from the report indicated concerns over the airline's sales approach. Raja's departure coincided with American slashing its profit outlook and key revenue measure, causing its stock to drop the most in almost four years. Isom acknowledged the need to modify the strategy, particularly the plan to limit AAdvantage miles for trips bought directly from the carrier, which had upset travel managers.
