American Airlines CEO Robert Isom criticized the removal of several Black passengers from a flight in Phoenix, where they were allegedly removed due to a complaint about body odor. Isom stated the incident was unacceptable and a failure of the airline's procedures and values. Three Black passengers had sued American Airlines last month, claiming they were removed due to racial discrimination. In response, American Airlines put some employees on leave, vowed to address discrimination allegations, and enhance diversity training to recognize and address bias and discrimination.
