American Airlines has terminated partnership negotiations with JetBlue Airways and is suing for damages following the collapse of their proposed Northeast Alliance. Vice Chair Steve Johnson stated in a letter to employees that they couldn't agree on a viable partnership structure. The alliance, which aimed to enhance both airlines' networks, was deemed to violate federal antitrust laws, a decision upheld by an appeals court. American Airlines is seeking over $1 million in compensation, while JetBlue claims to have worked cooperatively to end the NEA.
