An American student studying at Tsinghua University drowned in a swimming accident at Sail Rock in Kenting, Taiwan, after going swimming with 9 other foreign visitors. Despite rescue efforts, the 22-year-old male student did not survive and was pronounced dead at the Hengchun Tourist Hospital. The National Park Management Office had previously raised red flags to warn of dangerous currents in the area, emphasizing the importance of obeying safety regulations. Tsinghua University expressed sadness over the incident and stated that they would assist in contacting the student's family and making necessary arrangements. Both local and international organizations are providing support in handling the situation.
