As Macau sees a recovery with affluent premium mass customers returning to casinos, smaller operators like MGM China and Wynn Macau are benefiting while larger rivals like Sands China and Galaxy Entertainment are striving to catch up. The shift in visitor types has led to a focus on high-limit baccarat tables with bets ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars, as the VIP segment declines and the lowest spending mass segment has yet to fully recover. Despite overall traffic and gaming demand being below 2019 levels, MGM China and Wynn Macau's premium clientele focus has boosted their operating efficiency, with shares up compared to Sands and Galaxy.
