Since March, the 'Dismantling Action' initiated by citizens in Keelung has entered its second stage of final countdown for the recall petition. Despite the Democratic Progressive Party's initial stance of non-involvement, Secretary-General Lin You-chang finally intervened forcefully to help with the petition. The Kuomintang has now also called for the recall of the Green Council Speaker and members, turning the recall process into a political feud between the parties. This has caused confusion and disillusionment among the people of Keelung, splitting them into blue and green factions. The ongoing recall of Mayor Xie Guoliang has escalated due to various political emotions and actions, with both parties using recall as a means of retaliation rather than focusing on governance issues, ultimately sacrificing the interests of the people of Keelung.
