During the National Congress Forum in 2024, Jason Chang, chairman of Pegatron, and vice convener of the Presidential Palace's Climate Change Commission, warned that Taiwan's AI industry should not be overly hyped, as it lacks the aspect of 'OEM'. In response, the Executive Yuan assured a pragmatic approach, stating that Taiwan holds a significant position in semiconductor, high-tech, and artificial intelligence fields due to steady governmental planning and will not have a sense of floating in the air. The government spokesperson, Chen Shih-kai, mentioned that they will accept suggestions from enterprises and the public humbly and strive to be practical and solid in future industry planning, playing Taiwan's role in the international industry supply chain well.
