Angola's central bank has initiated the sale of $150 million in foreign currency to commercial banks, primarily to facilitate rice imports and assist private transactions. Of this, $88 million is earmarked for rice imports while $60 million supports individuals with pending bank settlements. This intervention, occurring on December 9 and 10, builds on previous sales in October that totaled $248 million, contributing to a strengthening of the kwanza against the dollar.
