On June 16, 2024, the annual sea event, the 'Outer Muyu Mountain Long Swim Event,' was held in the parking lot of the Haixing Swimming Pool in Zhongshan District, Keelung City, with Mayor Xie Guoliang personally present to cheer on the 2500 participants, many of whom were swimming enthusiasts from other counties and cities. The Keelung City Police Fourth Precinct was also present, distributing fraud prevention pamphlets and educating the public on recent scams. Deputy Team Leader of the Investigation Team, Wu Zhengyan, explained common scams involving false investment advertisements, fake friendships on social media apps, and warned against promises of guaranteed profits and no risks. Citizens were advised to stay vigilant against scams and report any suspicious activities to prevent falling victims to fraud.
