During a parliamentary meeting on June 21, a group called '青鳥 (Bluebirds)' gathered outside the legislature to protest against the power expansion legislation. Concerns arose when Lai Chung-chieh, the convener of the Economic Democracy Union, was rushed to the hospital due to suspected heatstroke. Despite his condition, the group emphasized that their movement is a collective effort and will not be deterred. They called for supporters to take care of themselves while continuing their fight for democracy. The protest highlighted the importance of safeguarding democracy in Taiwan.
