Antidepressants: Study Finds Lower Withdrawal Symptom Rates

Reported 6 months ago

New research suggests that around one in six people who stop antidepressants will experience withdrawal symptoms, lower than previously estimated. The largest study of its kind published in The Lancet Psychiatry found that 15% of patients will experience symptoms directly caused by stopping the drugs, with dizziness, headache, nausea, insomnia, and irritability being common. The study analyzed data from 21,000 patients involved in 79 research pieces, indicating that the rates of withdrawal symptoms are not as high as earlier studies suggested.
