Apollo Global Management to Invest $11 Billion in Intel for Irish Facility

Reported 6 months ago

Apollo Global Management is set to acquire a 49% equity interest in a joint venture associated with Intel's new manufacturing plant in Ireland for $11 billion. This venture involves Fab 34 in Leixlip, Ireland, marking Intel's first high-volume location for its Intel 4 manufacturing process. The deal, expected to close in the second quarter, enables Intel to redirect some of its investment in the project to other areas of its business. Intel plans for chip factories in Ireland and France to leverage European Commission funding rules. The joint venture has chip-making rights at the facility, with Intel maintaining full ownership and operational oversight.
