Appeals Court Revives Challenge to Medicare Drug Price Negotiation Law

Reported 18 days ago

A U.S. appeals court has reinstated a lawsuit from healthcare and drug industry groups against a law mandating price negotiations for medications under Medicare. The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals found that a lower court judge incorrectly dismissed the case, which is part of ongoing efforts to block the new pricing program established by the Inflation Reduction Act. This program is designed to cut drug prices significantly, with negotiations announced for ten medications set to begin in 2026.
