According to a report by The Wall Street Journal cited by Reuters, Facebook's parent company Meta has discussed integrating Meta's generative AI models into Apple's recently announced iPhone AI system. In addition to Google and Meta, AI startups Anthropic and Perplexity have also engaged in discussions with Apple to introduce their generative AI into Apple's smart systems. The potential financial benefits of such partnerships are unclear, but negotiations involve AI companies selling their services through Apple's intelligent systems via premium subscriptions. Apple's long-awaited AI strategy includes incorporating new Apple AI technology into its app suite (including Siri) and introducing the Microsoft-backed OpenAI chatbot ChatGPT into their devices.
