Apple's AI initiatives may not boost iPhone sales in current cycle

Reported over 1 year ago

During Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference, Apple introduced new AI technology for iPhones and personal devices, but Needham & Co. Senior Media & Internet Analyst Laura Martin believes it may not impact current iPhone 16 sales, especially in China where certain AI models are not allowed, representing 20% of iPhone sales. She suggests that the estimates may not exceed Wall Street consensus this year, but anticipates increased AI integration by developers in the next cycle in 2024. The market appears optimistic about Apple's AI announcements driving iPhone sales, contrary to Martin's perspective.
