Apple's smartphone shipments in China increased by nearly 40% in May compared to the previous year, continuing the growth trend seen in April. The data from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) showed a rise in foreign-branded phone shipments, with Apple being the dominant player in the market. This surge in sales follows a period of weak performance earlier in the year, and it is attributed to Apple's aggressive discounting strategy, including price cuts of up to 2,300 yuan ($316.71) on select iPhone models in May.
