To encourage elderly to age in place and reduce the economic burden on caregivers who cannot go out to work while taking care of the elderly, Taipei and New Taipei City governments provide a 'Special Care Allowance for Low and Middle-Income Elderly,' offering caregivers 5000 yuan per month. Eligible recipients include elderly with low to medium income, as well as caregivers meeting specific criteria. The allowance is disbursed monthly to the caregiver's account by the 20th of the following month.
