The Central Weather Bureau issued a heavy rain special warning this afternoon indicating that there is a high possibility of localized heavy rain or torrential rain in Nantou County today, with chances of localized heavy rain in Hualien, Tainan, central Taiwan, Yilan, and the western mountainous areas. The front is located over the northern sea of Taiwan, causing the southwest winds to increase gradually and bringing moisture, leading to sporadic brief showers or thunderstorms in the central and southern regions with a chance of localized heavy rain. Afternoon thunderstorms are expected, especially in Yilan, Hualien, Greater Taipei, and mountainous areas where short spells of heavy rain may occur. The temperatures range from 24 to 26 degrees Celsius at night and early morning, with daytime highs of 29 to 32 degrees, prompting the need to stay hydrated when outdoors.
