A Lebanese-American lawyer, Jinan Chehade, has filed a lawsuit against the national law firm Foley & Lardner, alleging discrimination based on her Arab Muslim background and political statements regarding Israel's actions in Gaza. Chehade claims she was fired by the firm the day before she was supposed to start her job in their Chicago office, following a hostile interrogation about her social media posts and associations. Foley & Lardner maintains that their decision to rescind Chehade's job offer was justified due to her statements regarding attacks by Hamas.
