Arc-shaped Cloud Line Appears in the Strait, Cheng Mingdian Warns: South Wind Strengthening and Moving Northward Tonight Will Affect Southwest Taiwan

On June 28, 2024, the Southwest wind will affect Taiwan for the next two days, with a probability of localized heavy rain in the southern region, while other areas and Matsu will experience cloudy to clear skies. Central and northern areas, northeast regions, eastern areas, and mountainous areas may experience isolated brief thunderstorms and there is a chance of localized heavy rain. Former Director of the Central Weather Bureau, Cheng Mingdian, raised a warning today about the appearance of an 'arc-shaped cloud line' over the strait, indicating that the strengthening south wind will affect Southwest Taiwan tonight and then move northward. Continued observation is advised.
