Some people view pet stores as 'nuisance facilities', believing they will lead to a decrease in property prices and rent in the vicinity. Housing experts have addressed this concern. For example, due to difficulties in obtaining consent from neighbors, a pet shop owner in Taipei's Neihu district faced great economic pressure and could not open their business. The incident highlights a section of the population's aversion towards such establishments, fearing odors and noise that may impact the surrounding area. Housing trend expert Chen Dingzhong mentioned that opinions differ on whether pet shops are considered nuisance facilities, and he also discussed the potential impact on property prices. Taipei Mayor Jiang Wanan expressed regret over the incident and plans to review related regulations to find a more appropriate solution.
