In the first half of 2025, Argentines are consuming more beef as wages increase significantly, with average salaries rising 62.5% year-on-year, despite inflation remaining at 39%. While beef prices have surged by 59%, the easing of inflation has allowed consumers to return to their traditional preference for beef, with average consumption rising from 47.6 kg to 50.2 kg per person. However, exports have declined by 19% due to an unstable exchange rate, raising questions about future price adjustments.
