Chen, a 45-year-old member of the Bamboo Union gang, was arrested for using the identity of celebrity 'Chen Wen-Qian' to conduct stock investment scams on Facebook, resulting in a 65-year-old woman from New Taipei City losing four million NT dollars. Among those arrested was Zhong, a former boxing star who represented Taiwan in the 2024 Doha Asian Games but had to retire due to an eye injury. Shockingly, he was involved in drug-related activities and fraud. The gang was busted, and evidence including drug-laced coffee packs were seized. The group scammed victims by posing as Chen Wen-Qian, providing investment advice and guiding them to an investment app. Police froze accounts and successfully prevented the gang from withdrawing the funds. Zhong, who was part of the gang, had a successful boxing career until his downfall, which included drug abuse and fraudulent activities.
