The Houston Astros have released former White Sox MVP Jose Abreu after a disappointing season, where the 37-year-old is hitting .124 with only two home runs and seven RBIs. The Astros will absorb $30 million to release Abreu, who signed a three-year deal worth $58 million in 2023. Abreu had a successful first season with the Astros in 2023 but has struggled this season. He had spent nine seasons with the White Sox, earning numerous accolades before moving to the Astros in 2022.
