AT&T reported better-than-expected financial results for the second quarter, with earnings of $0.54 per share and revenue of $30.8 billion, surpassing analyst predictions. The company added 401,000 postpaid phone customers but fell short in internet subscriber growth, gaining only 243,000 new AT&T Fiber subscribers. Despite this, AT&T expects increased revenue from mobility services and fiber internet for the year, as well as significant tax savings due to new legislation.
