Atlantic's First Hurricane of the Year! Cheng Mingdian Warns: Typhoon Season is Starting

Reported 12 months ago

Recent high temperatures have turned Taiwan into a 'baked sweet potato'. However, the Pacific high-pressure system is currently dominant, suppressing cloud and rain development, making it difficult for typhoons to form. Former head of the Central Weather Bureau, Cheng Mingdian, reminded on June 30th that the first hurricane of the year in the Atlantic had formed, signaling the beginning of typhoon season and the need for preparation. The current calm in Taiwan does not negate the need to be ready for potential typhoons.
