On June 16, 2024, at 8:04 PM, the Euro Cup football match took place in Hamburg, Germany, with the match between the Netherlands and Poland about to begin. A large group of fans paraded on the streets when a man holding a gasoline bomb tried to break in. Fortunately, he was promptly subdued by the police after brandishing a cross wrench and the explosive. The man was emotional and continuously shouted at the police, resisting their requests for cooperation. Ultimately, officers were forced to shoot multiple times at his legs before he complied. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and the motive behind his actions remains unclear.
