Australian job advertisements fell for a fifth consecutive month in June, declining by 2.2% from May, according to data from Australia and New Zealand Banking Group and employment website Indeed. This marks a continued easing in labour demand amidst high interest rates and a slowing economy. Job ads for the second quarter dropped by 7.1% compared to the previous quarter, showing a more pronounced decline than the 3.0% decrease in the first quarter. Despite being 17.6% lower compared to a year earlier, job ads remained 17.8% higher than pre-pandemic levels.
