During a press conference on exporting red dragon fruit to Japan, Vietnamese-origin People's Party legislator Mai Yujen admitted to once secretly bringing back segments of Taiwan-grown dragon fruit to plant in her home country, causing a stir among attendees. Mai explained that due to different varieties, the fruit did not grow in Vietnam. Agriculture Minister Chen Chunji reminded against casually exporting Taiwan seeds, emphasizing the importance of preserving Taiwan's agricultural advantages and exporting high-quality products to other countries, with confidence in Taiwan's agricultural technologies and unique environment.
