Bain Capital and KKR & Co. have submitted bids for the non-core assets of Seven & i Holdings, reportedly totaling around $7.6 billion. Bain's bids ranged from ¥750 billion to approximately ¥1.2 trillion, while KKR's offer was around ¥800 billion. Seven & i is seeking to divest underperforming segments to focus on its convenience store operations amidst a competing $47 billion takeover attempt by Alimentation Couche-Tard. The company's founding family is also exploring a ¥9 trillion management buyout to keep control within Japan, which could include plans for an initial public offering of its North American stores.
