Millions of drivers worldwide are transitioning to electric cars as a way to move towards a carbon-neutral future and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation, with passenger cars contributing to about half of the sector's emissions. While electric car batteries are highly recyclable, large-scale recycling may take years to become more common.
