The Italian government sold minority stakes in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena to Banco BPM and Anima Holding as part of a €1.1 billion sale aimed at strengthening the bank's Italian shareholder base. Banco BPM purchased a 5% stake, while Anima increased its ownership to around 4%.
