Bangladesh Hit by Flooding with 1.8 Million People Affected

Reported 11 months ago

Bangladesh has been experiencing heavy rainfall for weeks, causing flooding that has affected around 1.8 million people in the northeast region. Residents are facing food shortages and a lack of clean water. Several cities are severely impacted, with over 800 schools flooded, and 77,000 children in urgent need of assistance. International organizations like UNICEF and BRAC are providing emergency food and medical support to hundreds of families as the situation worsens due to climate change exacerbating the unpredictability of floods and resulting in significant economic losses in the agriculture and fish farming sectors.
