The Consumers' Foundation officially initiated a group lawsuit regarding the Baolin Tea House poisoning incident, potentially including taking legal action against the operators of Far Eastern Department Store to ensure compensation for consumers. One victim, Huang Shujun, believes that Far Eastern Department Store did not fulfill its corporate responsibility. The incident, which occurred at the end of March, resulted in 24 minor illnesses and 6 fatalities. The Foundation plans to take legal action for the 30 individuals affected by the Baolin incident, with the assistance of volunteer lawyers, as the tea house owner has numerous debts and is unlikely to provide compensation. The investigation is ongoing as some victim autopsy reports are pending.
