Barrick Gold has signed a new agreement with the Malian government to resolve a nearly two-year dispute over its mining assets. The deal, pending Mali's formal approval, includes Barrick paying 275 billion CFA (approximately $438 million) to the government in exchange for releasing detained employees, seized gold, and resuming operations at the Loulo-Gounkoto mine. This agreement comes amid high gold prices and aims to restore production levels, which have been impacted by the ongoing dispute.
