Basketball: PLG and T1 Leagues to Merge with 11 Teams Participating, Jay Chou Speaks Out

Following the establishment of PLG and T1 leagues in 2021, Taiwan's professional basketball leagues are taking a further step towards merging. The new league will consist of a total of 11 teams from both leagues. PLG has announced the merger of its 6 teams with the 5 teams from the T1 league this year, with T1 actively involved as well. Jay Chou, the founder of the P. LEAGUE+ league, has also spoken out on Facebook about the merger. Both leagues are currently working on resolving the issues surrounding the merger. The preparatory committee of the new league stated that they will quickly gather the 11 teams to discuss and finalize the details. Despite being previously involved in the MeToo controversy, Jay Chou continues to follow basketball developments and expressed his hope for a better future for Taiwanese basketball on Facebook.
