Bayer has indicated to US lawmakers that it may stop selling its popular Roundup weedkiller unless better legal protections against product liability lawsuits are provided. The company has already paid around $10 billion to settle claims linking Roundup, which contains glyphosate, to cancer and faces a backlog of about 67,000 pending cases. Bayer stated that without regulatory clarity, it might be compelled to exit the market, as highlighted by analysts following a recent meeting with company leadership.
