BBVA Increases Sustainable Financing Goal to 700 Billion Euros

Reported about 5 hours ago

BBVA has announced an ambitious increase in its target for sustainable lending to 700 billion euros ($732.7 billion) over the next five years, up from a previous target of 300 billion euros. This move reflects the bank's focus on clean technologies and innovation, as well as the growing pressure to address climate change. BBVA aims to achieve net-zero emissions by mid-century and plans to stop financing coal by 2030 in developed countries and 2040 elsewhere.
